Logline:

A historical drama about a gathering of Ukrainian writers under one roof in an attempt to get them to work for the system. The film depicts how a communist paradise turns into hell.

Synopsis:

1927. Soviet Ukraine. On Stalin's orders, the cooperative building "Slovo" was built in Kharkov. The building's luxurious apartments accommodate the most prominent Ukrainian writers. All of them become participants in an experiment aimed at creating a new type of Soviet writer. The desire for complete control over the creative process in order to create a unified artistic method of socialist realism does not suit everyone, and not all of the writers agree with the glorification of the cult of Stalin.

An unknown person unexpectedly moves in with the residents of the house "Slovo". It is a young writer unknown Volodymyr Akimov. With his appearance in the house "Slovo" begin to occur strange things about which the house still keeps secret.
